Published with a January 1994 cover date, Midnight Sons Unlimited #4 closes out Siege of Darkness, the seventeen-part crossover that ran through Marvel's supernatural line and reorganized the Ghost Rider, Morbius, Nightstalkers, Darkhold, and Spirits of Vengeance titles. D.G. Chichester scripts the double-length feature, with pencils and inks from a studio team led by John Hixson and John Bridges, behind a spot-varnish painted cover by Tristan Schane. The plot carries real continuity weight for the era: the surviving Midnight Sons regroup against the Fallen, Blade acquires the enchanted sword forged by Foundry that would define his look through the balance of the decade, and Lilith is revealed to be alive and carrying the child of Zarathos.

Commercially the book sits where most 1993-94 Marvel horror product sits. Print runs from the speculation peak were large, the 68-page quarterly format survived in quantity, and the title has never developed a standalone key reputation, so raw copies move mainly as part of complete runs or Siege of Darkness lots rather than as individual pickups. What demand exists is derivative: interest in Blade and Ghost Rider, renewed attention to the Midnight Sons name from Marvel's later publishing and licensing use of it, and a small collector base that wants the crossover intact. Certified copies are a different market entirely, since the varnished cover and the black-heavy design punish handling and the census population in top grade is thin, which means the certified bracket trades on scarcity of the slab rather than scarcity of the comic.

The natural buyers are run collectors completing the nine-issue set, Blade specialists tracking the sword's debut, and registry-minded modern collectors who chase low-population 9.8s in unloved 1990s horror titles. Across the grade curve the spread is unusually steep for a book of this vintage: worn and mid-grade copies are effectively priced as reading material and are best sold in bundles, while the gap opens sharply at the top of the scale. Dealers should expect this to be a patience book raw and an opportunistic book certified, and should treat any 9.8 result as a function of who is bidding that week rather than an established market level.
