// Why this archive exists
Elite Comics Archive began as a farewell. The collection catalogued here belonged to a member of our family — a deeply private man who spent the better part of his life quietly assembling it, longbox by longbox, without fanfare and mostly without telling anyone. He didn’t collect for an audience. He collected because he loved the books.
We only understood the true scale of it after he passed: box upon box, carefully bagged and boarded, reaching from the Golden Age to the modern era — war comics and westerns sitting beside keys most collectors only ever see behind glass. There was no ledger, no want-list, no appraisal on file. Just the books, kept the way he kept most things that mattered to him: close, and quiet.
// What we are doing
A collection like this deserves better than an estate-sale table. So before a single book changes hands, each one is photographed, identified, condition-graded, and valued — the catalog you’re browsing is that work, still in progress. It is the inventory he never made, built the way we think he would have wanted it: thorough, honest, and unhurried.
The archive exists to find each of these books a new home with people who will care for them the way he did — collectors, dealers, auction houses, and institutions who understand what they’re holding. Every unit in the catalog is open to inquiry, and serious offers on significant books are always welcome.

Not everything is for sale. A few issues — the ones we remember seeing him actually read — will stay with the family. They aren’t the most valuable books in the collection. They’re just the ones that were the most his.
