Midnight Sons Unlimited #5 (cover-dated April 1994) is the fifth entry in Marvel's 68-page quarterly anthology supporting the supernatural Midnight Sons line, published in the months immediately after the "Siege of Darkness" crossover had run its course. The lead story, "The Beguiling," is scripted by David Quinn with art by John Hixson and a team of finishers including Scott Koblish and Andrew Pepoy: Modred the Mystic takes mental control of Morbius and the Werewolf by Night and, with Kyllian in his new Wildpride identity, moves against Doctor Strange's adversary Salome. A backup Johnny Blaze story, "Kindred Spirits, Lost Souls," rounds out the issue, along with a Ron Garney creator profile and a Rick Parker strip. Cover art is by Alan Rabinowitz. The issue's only cataloging distinction is Wildpride's first appearance under that codename, the character having debuted as Kyllian in a Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme annual the prior year.

Market performance is that of a common late Modern Age anthology from an overproduced period. Print runs were ample, the $3.95 cover price kept copies in the hands of direct-market readers who bagged them, and high-grade raw examples remain easy to source, so raw pricing sits close to bulk-box levels regardless of condition above the reading-copy threshold. Certification is rare enough that the census offers no meaningful trading history, which means a slabbed high-grade example prices off submission economics and registry completists rather than off competitive bidding. Demand such as it is comes from Ghost Rider, Morbius, and Werewolf by Night collectors assembling complete supernatural-line runs, and it strengthens modestly whenever film or streaming news touches those characters.

The realistic buyer here is a run collector filling the #1-9 sequence, a Midnight Sons completist, or a dealer moving the series as a set, where the whole reliably outperforms the sum of individually listed issues. Grade sensitivity is compressed: mid-grade and high-grade raw copies trade within a couple of dollars of one another, and only genuinely damaged copies fall below that band. Certification is not economically justified at current levels, and a high-grade slab should be understood as a scarce-population curiosity rather than an established market. Buyers seeking exposure to this corner of the 1990s Marvel supernatural line are better served by the line's recognized keys, with this issue treated as a run component.
