Midnight Sons Unlimited was Marvel's quarterly, 68-page companion to its early-1990s horror line, gathering Ghost Rider, Morbius, Blade, the Nightstalkers, and the Darkhold cast into a single oversized package. The sixth issue, cover-dated July 1994 behind a Jim Hoston cover, is structured as a linked set of David Quinn scripts running Doctor Strange through successive encounters with the vampire lord Verdelet, drawing in Clea, Morbius, Blade, and Ghost Rider across the chapters. The art roster is the issue's real distinction: Marie Severin handles the flashback in which Strange must save Clea, and Gene Colan — the artist most identified with Marvel's 1970s vampire material — draws the Bloodpack chapter with Dave Simons inking, with additional work from Mark Tenney and Max Douglas. Verdelet debuts here, a supporting-tier villain of the Strange and vampire corners rather than a character with sustained publishing weight.

Market behavior tracks the series as a whole: high print runs, generous page counts, and a title that was bought and read rather than bagged. Raw copies move as inexpensive back-issue stock, and the gap between a low-grade reading copy and a solid mid-grade example is narrow enough that condition matters less than availability. Attention from the Midnight Suns revival and continued interest in Blade and Morbius has produced periodic listing bumps and "first appearance of Verdelet" labeling from sellers, but that framing has not translated into sustained realized-price movement. Certified demand is where the leverage sits — the square-bound oversized format took spine and edge wear readily, census depth at the top grades is shallow, and certified sales in this series are infrequent enough that any single result carries outsized weight.

Buyers fall into three groups: Doctor Strange and Colan completists, Midnight Sons run collectors filling the nine-issue quarterly set, and registry-minded collectors chasing thin-population 9.8s in the 1990s Marvel horror line. For the first two, mid-grade raw copies are the sensible entry and trade freely at dealer bins and online marketplaces. The top grade is a speculative rather than a fundamental play, priced on scarcity of certified copies and on the possibility that screen exposure broadens interest in the imprint; a submission economically justifies itself only on a copy with real 9.8 potential. Expect the raw brackets to remain stable and the certified end to stay volatile and lightly traded.
