There is a small vertical crease/scratch faintly visible near the left edge of the artwork and light handling wear at the top left corner, but overall color and print quality remain vibrant. The book is protected in a plastic sleeve, which slightly obscures fine surface detail; interior pages and back cover were not assessed.

Hawkman #14 falls in the back half of the 1986-1987 DC series that followed Katar Hol and Shayera Thal after the Shadow War storyline, with Dan Mishkin scripting over Richard Howell pencils and Carlos Garzon and Kim DeMulder inks, edited by Barbara Randall Kesel.
