Fantastic Four #125 (Marvel, August 1972) arrived during Gerry Conway's stint scripting the title, with art by John Buscema and inks by Joe Sinnott, continuing the multi-issue confrontation between the core FF lineup and the Frightful Four. The issue folds in Medusa's complicated history with her former teammates the Wizard, Sandman, and Trapster, part of a broader Bronze Age run that kept the book's founding rogues gallery in active rotation as Marvel's flagship title moved past its Lee/Kirby origins into a new creative era.
Market data shows a typical mid-run Bronze Age superhero curve: modest values in low and mid grades that climb steadily through the 8.0-9.4 range before accelerating toward the top of the census. With no certified 9.8 sale on record despite a healthy population of eighteen at that grade, top-end pricing has to be projected from the trajectory set by 9.2 and 9.4 sales, both of which show consistent, if unspectacular, demand. This is a book collectors pursue as part of assembling a run rather than for any single defining moment within its pages.
FF #125 suits collectors building complete Fantastic Four sets through the Conway/Buscema era or investors seeking affordable Bronze Age Marvel inventory with defined, if modest, grade-to-price scaling. Entry-level raw copies remain inexpensive and readily available, while high-grade slabs will likely see continued gradual appreciation as census population grows and 9.8 examples eventually surface for sale, but this is not a book driven by first-appearance or landmark-event demand.
