Darkhold: Pages from the Book of Sins launched out of the 1992 "Rise of the Midnight Sons" crossover, the line-wide expansion of Marvel's supernatural corner built around Ghost Rider, Morbius, Nightstalkers and the Darkhold Redeemers. Issue #9 falls squarely in the series' middle stretch: Chris Cooper's ongoing serial about Victoria Montesi and the hunt for the scattered pages of the Book of Sins, with Rurik Tyler pencils over Bob Downs inks and Glynis Oliver colors. The chapter advances the Sam Buchanan subplot and brings Louise Hastings' grandson Jinx into Montesi's occult research; it introduces no lasting character and carries no origin or death, functioning instead as connective tissue in a story arc that fans of the imprint read as a whole.
