Cover shows sharp corners, strong color and gloss with no visible creases, folds, or spine stress. Edges appear clean with no chipping or wear, and there is no noticeable fading or staining on the front cover. Interior pages and back cover were not assessed, so grade reflects front-cover appearance only.

This is a 1990 A-Plus Comics reprint issue, part of the flood of Charlton and ACG material republished by Roger Broughton after his purchase of those companies' assets in the late 1980s. Its interior draws on Thane of Bagarth, the sword-and-sorcery back-up feature Steve Skeates and Jim Aparo produced for Charlton's Hercules in 1967-68, a Beowulf-era serial that Aparo drew in a deliberately Hal Foster-influenced adventure-strip mode before his long DC association with Batman and the Outsiders. Nothing here is a first appearance or first printing: the value of the package is archival, giving readers access to a Charlton feature that has otherwise been reprinted only in two 1985 Charlton issues and a later Avalon edition.

Market profile is that of a late-Copper-Age reprint from a marginal publisher. Print runs were small by 1990 standards but distribution was thin and demand thinner, so surviving inventory tends to sit unsold in dealer boxes in high grade, which flattens the usual grade curve almost entirely; a well-worn copy and a sharp copy trade within a dollar or two of each other. There is no certified market to speak of, no census presence, and no auction record, meaning the only real demand drivers are Aparo completists chasing every printing of his early work and Charlton specialists assembling the Thane of Bagarth publication history.

Collecting outlook is narrow but stable. Buyers are almost exclusively creator completists and Charlton-lineage researchers, who buy at bulk pricing and rarely resell, so the book functions as a checklist filler rather than an investment. Grading is uneconomic relative to the book's ceiling, and any hypothetical high-certified copy would be a curiosity priced off certification cost rather than collector competition. For a dealer archive, this belongs in the reprint-and-reference section, best moved in Aparo-themed or Charlton-themed group lots.
