Cover shows strong gloss and sharp corners with no visible creases or color breaks. There is minor surface sheen/glare from the protective sleeve that may hide small defects, and a faint spine tick is visible but not a full break. Edges appear clean with no chips; interior and back cover were not assessed. Overall a high-grade newsstand copy consistent with careful storage.

Following the 1984 four-issue limited series, Marvel promoted the West Coast Avengers to a monthly title in the fall of 1985 with Steve Englehart scripting and Al Milgrom penciling. This third issue, "Singleton!", turns on Tigra: doubting her place on Hawkeye's roster and unsettled by her animal nature, she separates from the team and is hunted by Kraven the Hunter, who sees in her the quarry he has always wanted. The supporting cast reflects Englehart's larger plan for the book, with Hank Pym in the process of being rehabilitated, Wonder Man and Jim Rhodes-era Iron Man continuity in play, and East Coast members including the Vision and the Scarlet Witch appearing in framing material. The Milgrom cover pairing Kraven against Tigra is the issue's identifying image, and the story is an early beat in a Tigra characterization arc that ran through the series.

Demand is run-collector demand rather than key demand. The 1985 series carries genuine keys elsewhere, notably the White Vision issues that spiked during the Disney+ era, and the market for the rest of the run is priced accordingly: plentiful, cheap in raw grades, and only lightly certified. Recorded sales for this number are few, and the Kraven the Hunter theatrical release produced a short speculative flicker on Kraven-cover books without establishing a new price floor. The newsstand designation matters less here than it does in the 1990s, since newsstand distribution still accounted for a large share of the 1985 print run; the practical effect is that high-grade newsstand copies are scarcer than direct-market copies, which supports certified prices at the margin without creating a separate market.

Buyers are West Coast Avengers and Tigra completists, Kraven the Hunter subject collectors, and Copper Age set builders filling the 1985-1989 run. Raw copies trade as inexpensive reader and fill material at essentially any grade below very fine, with little spread between a beaten copy and a solid mid-grade one. The economics change only at the top of the scale, where grading costs exceed the raw value and a 9.8 becomes a deliberate purchase for registry and subject collectors; population growth in that grade is slow, so certified copies surface irregularly and clear at whatever a motivated set builder will pay. Anyone assembling the run should expect to buy raw and grade selectively rather than wait for slabs to appear.
