West Coast Avengers #20 (May 1987) is the fourth chapter of Steve Englehart's "Lost in Space-Time," the long time-travel arc that carried the team's second series from issue #17 through #24. Englehart scripts and Al Milgrom supplies pencils and the cover as the scattered team is thrown across history: Hawkeye reunites with Marvel's Western heroes Rawhide Kid and Two-Gun Kid, Mockingbird falls under the coercive influence of the Phantom Rider, and the remaining members are stranded in the eighteenth century, where Wonder Man's carelessness costs Hawkeye the use of an arm. The chapter is best known as setup for the consequences that follow in #23, where Mockingbird's decision regarding the Phantom Rider becomes one of the more discussed character turns of Copper Age Avengers publishing. No first appearances or origins occur here.

Market activity is entirely raw and entirely retail-level. Copies of this run circulate constantly on eBay and through mail-order dealers in high grade, and the volume of surviving unread inventory keeps mid-grade pricing at or barely above shipping costs.
