Cover shows strong gloss and sharp corners with no significant creasing or color break visible. There is a faint diagonal scuff/scratch mark near the price box on the upper left, and slight waviness along the top edge of the cover. Spine appears tight with no visible stress ticks. Interior and back cover were not assessed, so grade is based solely on this front cover image.

Thing #32, cover-dated February 1986, falls in the final year of Ben Grimm's first ongoing solo title, a series that ran from 1983 to 1986. Mike Carlin wrote and Ron Wilson penciled, with Dave Simons inking and supplying the cover with Wilson. The issue belongs to the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation arc that dominated the book's closing stretch, with Vance Astrovik competing under the ring name Manglin' Mahoney and Sharon Ventura in a supporting role. Both figures matter more for what came later than for what happens here: Astrovik would become Marvel Boy and then Justice of the New Warriors, and Ventura would take up the Ms. Marvel identity within a few issues and later join the Fantastic Four. This issue is a chapter in the buildup rather than a debut, and no first appearance or origin of consequence lands in it.

Market behavior follows that status. The Thing's solo run is a collected, affordable series with a steady base of Fantastic Four completists, and issue #32 trades as ordinary mid-run stock: single-copy raw sales are infrequent because most copies move inside run lots and dollar boxes. Print runs were healthy and 1986 Marvel paper survives well, so high-grade raw copies are not scarce, which caps upside at the top of the raw market. Certification is rare here, and the small certified population reflects submission economics rather than genuine scarcity; the cost of grading exceeds the value of the book in all but the highest grades, so a 9.8 slab prices largely off registry and set-builder demand.

Buyers are run collectors filling gaps, Fantastic Four family readers, and a smaller group tracking early Vance Astrovik and Sharon Ventura appearances ahead of their New Warriors and Fantastic Four roles. Across the grade spectrum the book compresses sharply: low- and mid-grade copies are effectively interchangeable commodity stock, while the premium sits almost entirely in certified near-mint, where thin supply rather than demand sets the price. Dealers should expect this issue to sell fastest bundled with the surrounding U.C.W.F. issues, and to sit if listed alone at a premium.
