Cover shows overall tanning/oxidation especially along the top and right margins, with a discolored blotchy area around the Comics Code box. A horizontal crease/fold line runs across the upper cover through the logo, with additional light vertical creasing at the left edge and soft, rounded corners. Edge wear and minor chipping are visible along the right and bottom edges; spine appears intact with wear but is partly obscured by the bag, and glare from the polybag hides finer surface defects. Interior pages and back cover were not assessed.

The Return of Gorgo #2 continued Charlton Comics' short-lived tie-in series capitalizing on the 1961 British monster film Gorgo, following the publisher's separate Gorgo title that ran concurrently. Like most of Charlton's monster and licensed-film output of the era, the book was produced quickly and cheaply for a market saturated with giant-creature features, and it carries no first appearances, origin stories, or landmark creator work that would elevate it beyond a curiosity for genre completists.

Market data for this issue is extremely thin, with only two certified sales on record spanning a modest grade range. The low sale volume reflects the book's status as a minor, low-print-run Silver Age title rather than any recent shift in demand; Charlton's monster comics have a small but persistent following among giant-monster and kaiju-adjacent collectors, but pricing has never approached the levels seen for Marvel or DC genre books of the same period.

This is a book for specialists building out Charlton's monster and film-tie-in run rather than a piece with broad crossover demand. Raw copies in lower grades trade cheaply and are readily available to patient buyers, while high-grade certified copies are scarce enough that a single strong sale can move the perceived ceiling significantly given how few examples have been submitted for grading.
