Cover shows good gloss and bright colors with a visible UPC barcode box confirming newsstand edition. There is a small vertical crease/scratch near the top edge and slight corner softness at the top right and bottom right; a faint bend line runs through the upper red field. Spine appears mostly tight from this angle with no major stress lines visible, though the book is in a protective sleeve which slightly obscures fine surface detail. Interior and back cover were not assessed.

Cover-dated February 1984 and on sale the previous October, this 52-page one-shot gathers the Tales of Asgard backup features that ran in Thor #129-136, scripted by Stan Lee with pencils by Jack Kirby and inks by Vince Colletta. The reprinted run covers the Warlock's Eye storyline and the closing stretch of the Odinsword quest, introducing Harokin of Muspelheim, the Black Stallion of Doom, and the Well of Eternal Sleep in their original appearances, alongside Thor, Odin, Loki, and the Warriors Three. Marvel wrapped the package in a new cover by Walt Simonson, then in the middle of his own celebrated Thor run, which is the issue's principal original content and the reason it draws attention beyond the reprint audience.

Market behavior is that of a Copper Age reprint rather than a collectible in its own right. Supply is plentiful, the newsstand and direct printings circulate in similar numbers, and the book turns up steadily in dealer inventory and on the open market at ordinary back-issue levels. Certified copies barely exist because grading economics do not support submission, so high-grade demand is expressed almost entirely through raw near-mint copies; the handful of slabs that appear trade on the scarcity of the label rather than on any established price history. Demand drivers are the Simonson cover, Thor and Warriors Three completism, and readers who want the Asgard backups in a single inexpensive package rather than chasing eight mid-1960s issues.

Buyers are Thor run collectors, Simonson cover completists, and Kirby readers assembling affordable access to the Tales of Asgard material. Low-grade copies function as reading stock and are effectively priced at handling cost, while mid-grade examples move in the same narrow band, meaning condition matters far less across the bottom half of the scale than it does for original 1960s issues. The only meaningful spread appears at the top, where an untouched newsstand copy or a rare certified example commands a real multiple over raw stock; sellers should expect that premium to rest on certified scarcity rather than on underlying collector demand for the title.
