This 1965 pre-direct-market issue shows significant wear: heavy spine roll with multiple deep stress lines and color break along the entire spine, frayed and chipped edges especially at the top and bottom of the spine, a distinct tear/loss at the top staple area, and general surface wear with soiling and creasing throughout the cover. Corners show blunting and there is noticeable rubbing along the right edge. The book is protected in a plastic sleeve which adds glare but the underlying defects are still clearly visible. Strange Tales #132 arrived in May 1965 during the title's celebrated split-book era, pairing a Human Torch and Thing adventure with a Doctor Strange backup rendered by Steve Ditko.
