There is minor color rubbing along the spine and edges, and the cover appears intact without pieces missing, but the overall surface shows handling wear and a vertical crease near the left edge. Interior and back cover were not assessed in this photo, so the final grade could shift based on their condition.

Strange Tales #131 arrived in April 1965 as part of the mid-1960s split-book format that paired a Human Torch and Thing team-up feature with a Doctor Strange backup, the latter scripted by Stan Lee and drawn by Steve Ditko during the period widely regarded as the high point of Ditko's work on the character. Prices in the low and mid raw grades are flat and modest, reflecting ready supply, while the value curve steepens meaningfully once a copy clears the 9.0 threshold, consistent with the scarcity of pristine surviving copies of a fifty-plus-year-old newsstand comic.

This issue is best suited to Doctor Strange and Human Torch completists, Ditko art collectors filling out his Strange Tales run, and general Silver Age Marvel accumulators rather than key-issue speculators. Expect low and mid-grade raw copies to trade steadily but without urgency, while a true 9.8 would likely draw competitive bidding given its near-total absence from the certified population; such a copy would set a fresh high-water mark rather than confirm an existing one.
