Showcase #75 (June 1968) is a Silver Age DC tryout issue featuring The Maniaks, a fictional teenage rock band created by writer Bob Kanigher with art by Jack Sparling, produced in the wake of the Monkees television phenomenon and DC's broader push into teen-oriented, music-adjacent humor titles. The Maniaks would return for a second and final Showcase appearance before the concept was dropped, making this a minor entry in the try-out anthology's long run rather than a launch point for an enduring character or superhero concept.

The issue's market behavior is typical of a Silver Age anthology book with no major first appearance: values stay modest and flat through the mid and low grades, where large surviving populations (the certified census exceeds 660 Universal copies) keep raw and lower-grade certified prices depressed. Demand concentrates sharply at the top of the grading spectrum, where surviving high-grade copies are scarce relative to demand from Silver Age DC completists and Showcase run collectors, producing a steep price escalation from grade 9.4 upward and a pronounced premium for the handful of copies graded 9.6 and above.

This book trades primarily as a run-filler for collectors assembling a complete Showcase set or a broader Silver Age DC anthology collection, with little crossover interest from character-driven or key-issue buyers. Raw and mid-grade copies remain inexpensive and readily available, while the market rewards condition rarity disproportionately at the high end, where a small handful of Universal 9.6 and 9.8 copies command outsized prices relative to the rest of the grade curve.
