Cover shows moderate wear consistent with a mid-grade Silver Age book: soft corners, some surface wrinkling especially visible on the yellow caption box and along the top edge, and a vertical crease line running through the lower portion of the cover. Colors remain bright with no notable fading, and there's no significant staining visible, though the book is in a plastic sleeve which limits full assessment of edge and spine wear. Spine stress ticks are difficult to discern due to glare/sleeve reflection near the right edge. Interior and back cover were not assessed.

Our Fighting Forces #67, cover-dated April 1962, sits in the middle of the long Gunner and Sarge run that carried the title through the early 1960s under editor and frequent writer Robert Kanigher. The lead story, "Purple Heart for Pooch!", puts the Marine duo's adopted dog at the center of the action, and the issue is filled out with the shorter back-up war tales "The Sitting Duck's Last Stand" and "Dogtag Hero!" Gunner and Sarge had migrated over from All-American Men of War, and by this point the strip and its canine mascot were the fixed identity of the book, a house style built on Kanigher's terse plotting and the gritty draftsmanship DC's war line was known for. This is a representative mid-run issue rather than a first appearance or origin.
