Cover shows moderate wear consistent with a mid-grade Silver Age book: soft corners, some surface creasing across the central figure and lower right area, and light overall handling wear. There is a small crease/wrinkle visible near the top center of the cover and minor edge softness along the right border. Colors remain bright with no fading or major color breaks visible, and no tears or missing pieces are apparent. The book is in a protective sleeve which obscures fine detail near the edges; interior pages and back cover were not assessed.

Our Army at War #184, cover dated September 1967, is a mid-run installment of DC's flagship war title, edited and largely written by Robert Kanigher and fronted by a Joe Kubert cover depicting Sgt. Rock before a firing squad. The lead Easy Company story, "Candidate for a Firing Squad," comes from the period when Kubert's commitments to the Tales of the Green Berets newspaper strip pushed interior duties onto other hands, and Russ Heath's disciplined, reference-driven draftsmanship carries the issue. The book sits in the stretch of the run just before Kubert took over as editor at #194, a transitional window that also brought Neal Adams into the title's back pages a few issues earlier, and it features the familiar Easy Company supporting cast alongside Rock.

Demand for this issue is driven by run collectors and by the durable following for Kubert war covers rather than by any first appearance or origin. Raw copies circulate steadily on eBay, HipComic, and dealer sites at modest prices, and the spread between a well-worn reading copy and a solid mid-grade example is narrow enough that condition matters less to price here than it does on keys. Certified copies are scarce because the economics rarely justify grading a common late-Silver Age war book; what does reach the census tends to cluster in the very fine to near mint range, where scarcity of high-grade survivors from newsstand-only distribution creates a steep premium over raw money.

The natural buyers are Sgt. Rock completists filling the 1960s stretch of the series, war-genre specialists assembling Kanigher-Heath or Kubert cover collections, and set builders working toward long runs. In low and mid grades the book trades as inexpensive inventory that moves best in multi-issue lots; in top grade it becomes a registry-oriented purchase where the buyer is paying for census position rather than content. Cream-to-off-white paper is the norm for DC war titles of this vintage, so genuinely white-page high-grade examples should be expected to draw competitive bidding when they surface.
