Marvel Two-In-One Annual #3 gives the Thing a full-length, 52-page team-up with Nova, then only two years into his own title, as three alien Monitors plant drilling devices in New York, Paris, and Tokyo to judge Earth's fitness for survival. Marv Wolfman, who was writing both Nova and Fantastic Four material at the time, scripts a cosmic-judgment plot squarely in the late-1970s Marvel mode, with Sal Buscema layouts and pencils finished by Frank Giacoia and Dave Hunt, and a busy cover long attributed to Pablo Marcos with Ron Wilson pencils suggested in some references. The issue supplies the debut of the Monitors, Milandra, Kallara, and Askare, minor entities whose later use has been limited, so its interest rests on the Thing-Nova pairing rather than on any consequential first appearance.

Demand is run-collector demand. Copies circulate steadily in low- and mid-grade on eBay and through mail-order dealers at pocket-change levels, and the annual has no speculative overlay of the sort attached to Annual #2, with its Thanos and Spider-Man content, or Annual #7 and the first Champion of the Universe. Richard Rider's periodic returns to publishing and screen-adjacent attention give the book a mild secondary pull among Nova completists, but that has never translated into meaningful price movement here. Certified activity is sparse: the title's annuals were printed as inexpensive newsstand king-size books, handled accordingly, and few owners have found submission economics attractive, which is why the top of the market is set by isolated pedigree and high-grade sales rather than a liquid run of results.

The buyer base splits cleanly. Readers and set-builders finishing a Marvel Two-In-One or Nova run absorb nearly all supply at the low and middle of the grade scale, where the book is treated as filler and priced against shipping cost more than against condition. Registry-minded and high-grade Bronze Age buyers account for the small certified segment, and because square-cut newsstand annuals of this vintage rarely survive with sharp corners and clean staples, the gap between a mid-grade reading copy and a top-census slab is disproportionate to the issue's content. Dealers should expect this one to sell as part of a lot or a run rather than as a standalone offering, with the certified copies the only version worth cataloging individually.
