Cover shows good gloss with bright inks and no major creasing across the main image; a faint diagonal reflection/scratch line is visible in the mid-section but appears to be glare from the plastic sleeve rather than a physical crease. Slight softening/wear is visible at the top-left corner and along the top edge, and the spine appears tight with no obvious stress lines visible from this angle. The book is currently housed in a plastic sleeve, which obscures some fine surface detail; back cover and interior pages were not assessed.

Kull the Destroyer #16 (Marvel, cover-dated August 1976) is a mid-run installment of Marvel's Robert E. Howard-derived sword-and-sorcery title, following in the wake of the company's Conan the Barbarian success. The series translated Howard's Kull of Atlantis into an ongoing comics adventure, and by issue 16 the book was a steady but secondary entry in Marvel's fantasy line, produced amid a wave of licensed and creator-driven barbarian-adventure comics of the period.

The market for this issue reflects a low-demand, low-print-attention Bronze Age book rather than a recognized key. Certified population is small (29 Universal copies across 31 total graded), and sales activity is thin at every grade tier; only the very top of the census, grades 9.6 and 9.8, show any recorded FMV pricing, with a pronounced jump between them driven by scarcity of pristine copies rather than character or creator demand. Mid- and low-grade raw copies see little transactional visibility, consistent with a book collected mainly as part of a complete Kull run rather than pursued individually.

This issue trades primarily as a completist purchase for Kull the Destroyer and Howard-adaptation collectors building full runs, with occasional interest from Bronze Age fantasy-genre specialists. Across most grades it remains an inexpensive fill-in book; value concentrates almost entirely at the top of the condition census, where the handful of 9.6 and 9.8 copies command a real premium purely on registry scarcity. Outside that top tier, the book is accessible and unlikely to see significant grade-to-grade price escalation until the highest end of the curve.
