This is a mid-run installment of Marvel's third Kull the Conqueror series, the 1983-1985 revival that adapted and extended Robert E. Howard's pre-Cataclysmic barbarian king in full color. Alan Zelenetz scripts "A Vision of Lost Love," with John Buscema pencils inked and colored by Klaus Janson, a pairing that gives the book a heavier, more textured look than Buscema's Conan work of the same period. Michael Golden supplies the cover. The story keeps the run's supporting cast in play – Brule the Spear-Slayer, the scheming Baron Kaanuub of Blaal, Gorgo and Nala – as plague and palace intrigue close around Valusia. No first appearances or origin material occur here; the interest is in the creative team and in the series' place as the last sustained Marvel treatment of the character before the 1989 graphic novel.
