Ghost #2 continues the September 1998 relaunch that reset Dark Horse's signature supernatural heroine after the Eric Luke/Adam Hughes run concluded. Chris Warner scripts, Christian Zanier pencils over Steve Moncuse inks, and Ryan Benjamin supplies the cover; Chris Chalenor colors and Randy Stradley edits. The issue introduces Concordia Leveche, a psychic and student of the occult who becomes Elisa Cameron's link to the spirit world, and keeps sister Margo Cameron in play alongside Dr. Trouvaille and Nicola Provenzano. It sits in the wider Dark Horse Heroes continuity that grew out of Comics' Greatest World, the same line that produced the Batman/Ghost and Hellboy crossovers.

Market profile is that of a late-1990s independent second issue printed into a soft direct market: supply is plentiful in high grade, the character has no film or television adaptation driving speculation, and guide and marketplace data agree that raw copies trade as fill-in material rather than as individual purchases. Demand is concentrated in run collectors completing the twenty-two-issue second volume, and books more often change hands inside multi-issue lots than as single listings. Certification is rare enough that census data is thin, and the small premium a top-grade slab commands reflects grading cost rather than scarcity.

Across grades the spread is compressed: low- and mid-grade raw copies are effectively interchangeable at bulk pricing, near-mint raw copies are still readily available from back-issue dealers at guide, and only a certified high-grade example separates itself, and then modestly. The practical approach is to acquire the run rather than the issue, and to reserve grading for a copy already certain to hit the top of the scale.
