DETECTIVE COMICS #350
New Look-era Batman and Robin adventure from the Carmine Infantino run
// Unit specification
// Run position
// Condition analysis
Cover shows moderate wear consistent with a mid-grade Silver Age book: visible vertical creasing and a diagonal crease line through the upper left corner box, mild surface wear and slight color rub along the top edge checkerboard border, and a soft/rounded top right corner. Spine area is partially obscured by the protective sleeve but appears to have some stress lines near the top. Book is in a plastic sleeve which limits full assessment of edge chipping; interior and back cover were not assessed.

// Archive commentary
Detective Comics #350 arrived in April 1966 during the height of the "New Look" Batman era, the stylistic overhaul spearheaded by editor Julius Schwartz and artist Carmine Infantino that stripped away the campier trappings of the late 1950s in favor of a leaner, more detective-driven Batman. The issue is a representative example of that period's house style: tight plotting, Infantino's angular figure work, and the yellow oval Bat-emblem that defined the era's covers. It does not carry a first appearance, origin, or death, and is not cited in price guides as a landmark issue, but it remains a legitimate artifact of one of the most collected stretches of Batman's Silver Age publication history.
Market activity for this issue is thin and grade-compressed. Certified sales cluster in the $36-$40 range across grades 3 through 6.5, with only a modest jump to $95 at grade 7, and no recorded FMV or sales data above grade 7.5 despite a handful of 8-, 9-, and 9.2-9.4 copies on census. This flat curve indicates a book bought primarily by Batman Silver Age completists and New Look run-builders rather than speculators chasing a marquee key, with demand driven almost entirely by title and era rather than issue-specific content.
Expect this book to trade steadily but modestly at the low and mid grades, where raw copies are readily available and priced for accessibility to run collectors. High-grade certified copies are scarce on census and essentially untested at the top of the scale, so a 9.8 would likely command a significant premium simply on rarity and eye-appeal grounds rather than any documented sales precedent. Buyers are best served viewing this as a solid, affordable building block for a complete New Look Batman/Detective Comics run rather than a standalone investment-grade key.
