Avengers Spotlight #35, cover dated August 1990, belongs to the final stretch of the title that began as Solo Avengers in 1987 and closed at issue #40 in January 1991. Where the early run paired a Hawkeye lead with a rotating backup, the later issues handed full spotlights to individual Avengers, and this installment turns to Gilgamesh, the Eternal known as the Forgotten One, recovering from injury and moving between Olympia and Paris. Danny Fingeroth wrote the issue with pencils by Jim Valentino and a cover by Steve Lightle, under Mark Gruenwald and Len Kaminski's editorial oversight. It is a well-made mid-run Copper Age book rather than a first appearance or origin, and it carries no key status.

Market profile is that of ordinary late-1980s and early-1990s Marvel product printed in quantity for both direct and newsstand channels. Copies circulate mainly in dealer dollar boxes, in small multi-issue lots, and through want-list fulfillment, and the recorded sales that do exist cluster tightly regardless of whether a copy is fine or near mint. Certification is rare because grading fees exceed the book's raw value several times over, which means the high-grade bracket reflects the general price level for slabbed common Copper Age Marvel rather than demand specific to this issue. The one demand driver worth noting is thematic: Gilgamesh's Avengers tenure and the Eternals' later screen exposure have given the character's scattered solo appearances a modest secondary interest.

Buyers are run collectors completing Solo Avengers/Avengers Spotlight, Eternals and Gilgamesh completists, and Lightle cover collectors. Across grades the spread is compressed at the bottom, where a low-grade copy trades as filler, and only widens once a book is slabbed at the top of the census, an outcome driven by the scarcity of anyone bothering to submit it. For a dealer archive this is stock to be listed in bulk or held for want-list matching, with any upside confined to a registry-quality certified copy.
