Cover shows strong gloss and vibrant color with sharp corners and no visible creases or spine stress. A faint diagonal line/scratch is visible on the lower right portion of the cover, possibly a light crease or reflection from the protective sleeve. Edges appear clean with no chipping or fraying visible. Interior and back cover were not assessed, so grade is based solely on the visible front cover condition.

Avengers Spotlight #30, cover dated March 1990, continues the Hawkeye-led format that Marvel inherited from Solo Avengers and ran through issue #40. Steve Gerber scripts the lead story, in which Clint Barton takes a self-appointed stand against Los Angeles street gangs, is shot, and adopts a new armored costume that Marvel abandoned within a year. The issue also marks the first appearance of Lotus and carries a painted Joe Jusko cover, part of the run of Jusko covers that gave the late Spotlight issues a visual identity distinct from the interior work. Supporting appearances place Barton in his West Coast Avengers context alongside Mockingbird, U.S. Agent, Iron Man, Vision, Wonder Man, Tigra, and the Scarlet Witch, with editorial oversight by Mark Gruenwald.

Market behavior here is typical of a late Copper Age Marvel B-title printed in quantity and widely saved. The book circulates freely in dealer bins and online marketplace lots at bulk pricing across the entire raw spectrum, and the spread between a well-read copy and a sharp mid-grade copy is nominal, since supply in higher grades is abundant enough that condition premiums do not begin to matter until near-mint territory. Certified activity is thin: the census population is small, not because the book is scarce but because grading costs exceed any plausible return outside the top grade. Such demand as exists tracks Hawkeye's screen profile and the collector interest in cataloguing costume changes and minor first appearances rather than any independent guide-driven reputation.

Buyers are run collectors completing Solo Avengers/Avengers Spotlight sets, Hawkeye completists chasing costume variations, and Jusko cover collectors. In practice, that means the book trades as inexpensive raw stock in almost every grade, with meaningful pricing reserved for graded 9.8 examples aimed at registry-minded Hawkeye collectors. Newsstand copies of this issue are the harder printing to locate in top grade and are worth separating out when they surface; otherwise this is a book best sold in Hawkeye-themed groupings or as part of a complete run, where the set commands more attention than any single issue.
