Wonder Man #9 is the eighteenth of nineteen chapters in Operation: Galactic Storm, the 1992 Avengers-family crossover that pitted Earth's heroes against the Kree and Shi'ar and set up the nega-bomb detonation and the fracture within the Avengers over lethal force. Gerard Jones scripted, with pencils by Jeff Johnson and Stephen B. Jones, inks by Dan Panosian and Bud LaRosa, and a Johnson/Terry Austin cover; the story picks up directly from Quasar #34 and hands off toward the crossover's finale. Simon Williams' Hollywood-set solo title, launched in 1991, was an unusual fit for a cosmic war story, and this issue is one of the run's few installments tied to a line-wide event rather than to the series' own supporting cast.
