Cover shows sharp corners and clean, bright colors with no visible creases or color breaks. Slight glare from the protective sleeve obscures fine surface detail, and a faint sheen along the right edge may hide minor handling wear. Launched in the fall of 1991 on the strength of Simon Williams' expanded profile in Avengers West Coast, Wonder Man gave the character his first sustained solo platform. Gerard Jones wrote the run with a Hollywood-satire angle — Simon as stuntman, actor, and reluctant celebrity — while Jeff Johnson penciled and Terry Austin inked, Austin's finishes giving the early issues a cleaner line than much of Marvel's 1991 output. Issue two continues directly from the debut, keeping the West Coast Avengers supporting cast in play and adding the second installment of the mock Gutwrencher Magazine interview feature that ran as a back-of-book bit through the opening issues.

Market behavior here is that of a plentiful early-1990s Marvel print run. Production volumes at the time were enormous, high-grade copies survive in quantity, and the issue has no first appearance or origin content to anchor speculation, so raw copies trade at bin levels wherever they surface. What movement the title has seen has attached almost entirely to the first issue, driven by announcement of a Wonder Man streaming series; that attention has not carried meaningfully to the second issue. Certified copies are scarce on the census not because the book is rare but because submitting it rarely makes economic sense, which means graded sales are sporadic and pricing for a top-grade slab is inferred rather than observed.

Buyers for this book are run collectors completing the twenty-nine-issue series, Avengers West Coast completists, and Terry Austin followers. Newsstand copies of 1991 Marvels drew rougher handling and are the harder version to locate in high grade, which supports a small premium at the top end for a registered 9.8 while making no difference in the lower brackets, where the book competes with every other copper-age filler in the same box. Expect flat trading across low and mid grades, with the only realistic upside sitting in certified near-mint/mint and dependent on renewed screen-driven interest in the character.
