Cover shows strong gloss and vibrant color with sharp corners and no visible creasing or spine stress; it is preserved in a protective sleeve which has helped maintain surface quality. Minor light indentation or handling wear may be present near the bottom edge but nothing significant is visible under the plastic. Interior pages and back cover were not assessed. Overall this presents as a high-grade near-mint copy based solely on the visible front cover.

Thor #36 falls in the back half of Dan Jurgens's run on the 1998 relaunch, the volume that returned the Thunder God to his own title after the Heroes Reborn interlude and paired him with the mortal identity of paramedic Jake Olson. Scripted by Jurgens with guest art by Argentinian newcomer Walter Taborda and a cover by Ian Churchill, the issue advances the "Lighting the Fuse" thread, with Loki turning the Destroyer loose on a Thor stripped of his godly standing by Odin. Balder, Hercules, and the Enchantress figure in the supporting cast. It is a competently built serial chapter rather than a milestone: no first appearances, origins, or deaths of consequence attach to it.

Market profile is that of an ordinary early-2000s Marvel direct-market issue. Print runs in this period were healthy relative to surviving demand, and the Jurgens/Romita Jr. material has been widely reprinted in trade and omnibus form, which caps back-issue pressure on individual numbers. Raw copies circulate steadily through dealer inventories and online marketplaces at or below original cover price, and there is effectively no auction record because the book does not reach consignment thresholds.
