Thor #25 (vol. 2, June 2000) closes out a marquee stretch of Dan Jurgens's late-1990s/early-2000s run on the title, with pencils by John Romita Jr. and inks by Klaus Janson. The issue resolves the storyline in which Thanos deploys the monstrous Mangog against the Thunder God, while Tarene, the alien Designate introduced a few issues earlier, weeps the tears that give the arc its name, and Odin marshals the Odinforce and Firelord to Asgard's defense. It is a well-drawn, high-stakes chapter of a collected creative run, but it carries no first appearance, origin, or death that the price guides treat as a key; Tarene's debut sits back at #22.

The book's market profile is that of a plentiful modern direct-market issue. Supply is deep, the certified census is thin because few owners see reason to slab a non-key, and demand is driven by run collectors completing the Jurgens/Romita Jr. era rather than by speculators.
