Cover shows strong gloss and bright, unfaded colors with sharp corners. There is a small vertical crease/wave near the spine on the left edge and minor rubbing at the top edge; the barcode area shows slight surface wear typical of newsstand handling. No major creases, tears, or color breaks are visible on the front. Interior and back cover were not assessed, so grade may be adjusted after full inspection.

The Champions #15 closes out the two-issue Swarm arc that began in the prior issue, with Bill Mantlo scripting the team's ongoing struggles against the villainous bee-swarm entity and its ties to the demonic Zarathos, who possesses Ghost Rider across the storyline. The issue is notable chiefly for its interior art by John Byrne, inked by Mike Esposito, arriving just as Byrne's star was rising toward his defining runs on X-Men and Fantastic Four, and for the addition of Darkstar (Laynia Petrovna) to the Champions' roster. Al Milgrom supplies the cover, and Archie Goodwin edited the short-lived series, which folded not long after this issue.

Market activity reflects the book's status as a minor but collectible entry in a commercially unsuccessful Bronze Age team title. Certified sales cluster at the top of the grade scale, with a reasonably active 9.8 market and a thinning population as grade descends, consistent with a book that saw modest print runs and limited raw survival at high grade. There is no first appearance or landmark event driving demand; value here is a function of Byrne's growing name recognition as an artist and the completist pull of a short series with a cult following among Champions collectors.

This is a book bought by Bronze Age team-title completists, Byrne art collectors filling out his bibliography, and Champions or Darkstar character collectors rather than speculative investors. Raw copies in low and mid grade trade cheaply and infrequently, reflecting low demand outside the CGC population, while 9.8 slabs command a real premium driven by scarcity at the top of the census and steady, if modest, sales velocity. Expect the bulk of transactional interest to remain concentrated in near-mint certified copies rather than the raw market.
