Cover shows notable overall wear consistent with a well-read Silver Age book: soft, rounded corners, a vertical crease running along the left edge, and general surface wear with some color rub at the spine. There is noticeable yellowing/browning of the cover stock and a small stain near the lower left corner. The book is in a protective sleeve, which limits full assessment of edge chipping; interior and back cover were not visible and were not assessed.

Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #111, cover-dated June 1968, arrived during the long DC run devoted to Superman's photojournalist companion, a title that mixed light science-fiction plots, transformation gimmicks, and supporting-cast antics under editor Mort Weisinger. By this point the series had settled into a formula of high-concept covers and self-contained adventures, with Curt Swan among the regular cover artists lending the Superman family books their house style. The issue predates the Jack Kirby takeover that would remake the title starting with #133, and it does not carry a first appearance, origin, or other event typically cited in price guides.

Market data shows a thin but active certified population, with 36 of 43 graded copies recorded across the census and sales concentrated in the mid-to-high grades. Pricing is essentially flat through the low and mid grades, with raw and lower-certified copies clustering near the mid-$20s regardless of exact grade, before climbing meaningfully at 9.4 and presumably higher still at 9.6 and 9.8, where sales exist but no smoothed value has yet been established. This pattern is typical of a common Silver Age issue with a small collector base tied mainly to condition scarcity rather than character or story significance.

The book is bought primarily by Superman-family completists and Silver Age DC run-builders rather than key-issue investors. Lower and mid-grade copies trade as inexpensive run-fillers with little grade differentiation, while pristine certified examples command a real premium simply because so few exist in top census grades. Collectors pursuing a complete Jimmy Olsen set will encounter this issue as a modest, low-stakes purchase, with any real appreciation concentrated at the extreme high end of the grading scale.
