Cover shows moderate wear consistent with a mid-grade Silver Age book: visible spine stress with some whitening/ticks along the top spine edge, mild corner blunting at top left, and slight surface sheen loss in the green ink areas. There's a small crease/soft indentation visible near the upper left corner and light edge wear along the top edge. The book is in a protective sleeve which adds glare in places, and the back cover and interior pages were not assessed.

// Archive commentary
Mystery in Space #105 arrived in early 1966 as part of the anthology title's mid-1960s shift away from its longtime headliner Adam Strange toward newer science-fiction concepts developed by writer Gardner Fox and artist Gil Kane, most notably Ultra, the Multi-Alien, who had debuted a couple of issues earlier in the same run. This issue continues that feature rather than originating it, placing it squarely in the category of a well-drawn, well-written Silver Age DC science-fiction comic without a first appearance, origin story, or other event that collectors and price guides treat as a key moment.
Market data for the issue is thin, reflecting a low submission volume typical of secondary DC sci-fi titles from this period: certified copies are concentrated in the high-grade range, with a small handful of sales establishing a modest fair market value near the 9.0 mark and essentially no recorded transactions in the 4.5-and-below range. Demand is driven primarily by Gil Kane cover-and-art enthusiasts, Adam Strange-adjacent Silver Age DC completists, and anthology-title collectors filling out full Mystery in Space runs rather than by any speculative first-appearance interest.
The book trades as a mid-tier Silver Age filler and reader's-grade acquisition at the low end, a reasonably priced run-builder in the middle grades, and a scarce, lightly-populated high-grade prize at the top of the census, where a true Gemstone-quality copy would command a significant premium simply on the basis of how few examples exist above 9.2. It suits collectors building complete Mystery in Space sets or Gil Kane bibliographies more than investors chasing key-issue appreciation.
