Micronauts: The New Voyages #20 closes out Marvel's second Micronauts series, published cover-dated May 1986 after the original run ended with issue #59. Peter B. Gillis wrote the series throughout, pairing with Kelley Jones on pencils and Danny Bulanadi on inks for a cosmic, exploration-driven take on Commander Arcturus Rann, Marionette, Bug, Acroyear, Biotron and the later additions Solitaire and Scion. The book carries no first appearance or origin, but it holds real interest as the terminal issue of the franchise at Marvel: after this issue the publisher lost the licensed Micronauts name and characters, making #20 the hard stop on a run that stretched back to 1979. It also sits among Kelley Jones's earliest sustained penciling work, well before the Sandman and Batman assignments that built his following.

Market behavior follows the pattern of a low-print Copper Age licensed title with a devoted but small collector base. Raw copies circulate steadily and cheaply, mostly through eBay and mail-order dealers, and price movement is driven by run collectors filling the last slot rather than by speculative demand. The 1986 date places the issue at a distribution low point for the title, so high-grade copies are genuinely uncommon relative to earlier Micronauts issues, and the CGC census reflects that scarcity with only token submissions. Recent reprint activity, including the Original Marvel Years omnibus and Epic Collection programs, has raised general awareness of the Gillis and Jones material without meaningfully lifting single-issue prices.

Buyers divide into two groups: Micronauts completists chasing both series, and Kelley Jones followers working backward from his DC work. The first group buys in bulk at raw prices and tolerates mid grades, which keeps the low and mid brackets flat and liquid. The second group is thinner but occasionally competitive on certified copies, and because so few slabs exist, a single 9.8 hitting the market can set the ceiling by itself rather than confirming an established level. Sellers holding sharp unpressed copies are better served by patience than by aggressive pricing; sellers holding readers should expect the book to trade as run filler.
