Marvel Two-In-One #55 (September 1979) continues the team-up format that paired Ben Grimm with a rotating cast of Marvel characters each month, here bringing him alongside the cyborg soldier Deathlok. The issue is part of a Mark Gruenwald-scripted arc that introduced a successor to the original Deathlok host, Luther Manning, recasting the character around Henri Sorel. Art is by John Byrne on pencils with Joe Sinnott inking, a pairing that was, around this period, becoming closely associated with Marvel's cosmic and street-level books alike; the cover is credited to Keith Pollard with Sinnott inks. Supporting characters from the era's Marvel Two-In-One rotation, including Black Goliath, Namorita, Carol Danvers, and Man-Thing, round out a book that reflects the anthology-adjacent, guest-star-driven format the series was built around.

As a mid-run issue of a long-tail 1970s team-up title, this book falls squarely into the bulk of unremarkable back issues that make up the bread-and-butter inventory of any dealer's bins. It was printed in the high volumes typical of late Bronze Age Marvel output and has never commanded meaningful premiums in the secondary market; demand is driven mostly by completist Marvel Two-In-One and Thing collectors, plus a smaller pocket of interest from readers assembling every Deathlok appearance across his various eras and hosts. The John Byrne/Joe Sinnott art pairing lends some incidental appeal to Byrne collectors, but not enough to lift the book out of its default near-cover-price tier.

This is a book collectors acquire opportunistically rather than seek out, typically as part of run-building for the series or character rather than as a stand-alone purchase. Raw copies in any grade trade cheaply and are easy to source; the rare graded submission, particularly in top grade, can command a modest premium simply due to how few high-grade slabs exist for a title most owners never bothered to preserve. It is a solid, unglamorous piece of late-1970s Marvel history rather than a book driven by first-appearance excitement.
