Cover shows strong gloss and vibrant color with sharp corners and a tight spine; no visible spine ticks or color breaks. There is a small crease/line near the upper right edge of the cover and a slight bend visible near the top right corner. The book is protected in a plastic sleeve, which limits full assessment of surface sheen and edge condition. Interior pages and back cover were not assessed.

// Archive commentary
Marvel Tales #74, cover-dated December 1976, is part of the long-running Marvel Tales reprint line (volume 2), which recycled early Amazing Spider-Man stories for a new generation of readers a decade or so after their original publication. By the mid-1970s the title had become Marvel's standard vehicle for cycling classic Stan Lee-era Spider-Man tales back into circulation at an affordable cover price, giving younger fans access to material that had already become difficult and expensive to find in its original Silver Age printings. The book carried a new cover, as was typical for the series, distinct from the interior reprinted story's original art.
As a reprint title with no first appearances, no origin material, and no landmark creative milestones of its own, Marvel Tales #74 has never registered as a book of independent significance in the collector market. Demand is limited essentially to completists assembling a full run of Marvel Tales, readers seeking an inexpensive way to read early Spider-Man stories, and dealers filling long boxes; there is no meaningful speculative or investment interest attached to this specific issue.
