Marvel Tales #41 is a Bronze Age issue of Marvel's long-running reprint anthology, which by this point in its second volume was working its way through the early Amazing Spider-Man issues in roughly sequential order. This installment reprints material from the John Romita Sr. run that followed Steve Ditko's departure from the series, placing it in the stretch of the title covering the unmasking of the Green Goblin as Norman Osborn to Peter Parker. Marvel Tales was published in substantial numbers as a low-cost reprint title, and issue #41 has never carried a fair-market value in standard price-guide coverage, which is itself the market's assessment that the book trades near cover price in circulated condition. Demand is driven almost entirely by Spider-Man completists and Bronze Age reprint-run collectors rather than by any first-appearance or landmark-story premium, since the content itself had already been collected in its original Silver Age appearance years earlier. Any interest in this specific number is incidental to interest in the series as a whole.

This is a book that belongs in bulk boxes and dollar bins rather than in a spotlighted key-issue display. Raw copies in worn condition are essentially filler for Spider-Man or Marvel Tales run collectors assembling a complete set; better raw copies attract modest bids from readers wanting a presentable copy of the reprinted Romita art. Certified 9.8 examples see a real but narrow premium, driven by the relative scarcity of surviving high-grade copies of a disposable-format reprint title rather than by story significance, and such slabs sell mainly to registry-set builders working through the Marvel Tales run rather than to general Spider-Man collectors.
