JOURNEY INTO UNKNOWN WORLDS #21

This 1953 Atlas pre-code horror book (image rotated 90° from upright) shows heavy distress: a large piece missing from the upper left corner extending into the top interior panel with loss of paper and color, a vertical crease running through the center of the cover, spine wear with multiple stress lines, and general surface soiling and edge wear along all borders. There is also a small tear/pinhole area visible near the lower left and general aging/toning consistent with a book of this era. Interior and back cover were not assessed from this photo.

Journey Into Unknown Worlds #21 is a pre-code entry in Atlas Comics' long-running fantasy and horror anthology line, published in the summer of 1953 during the peak of the genre before the 1954 Comics Code curtailed such material. The title trafficked in short, twist-ending tales of the supernatural, science fiction menace, and the macabre, drawing on the deep bench of Atlas staff and freelance talent working under Stan Lee's editorship.
