Cover shows sharp corners, strong gloss, and vivid color with no visible creases or spine stress lines. Slight bend/soft corner wear may be present at bottom right but is largely obscured by the protective sleeve and glare. Edges appear clean with no chips or tears visible. Interior and back cover were not assessed, and the book is currently in a plastic sleeve which may hide minor defects.

Len Kaminski scripts and Tom Morgan supplies art and cover for the second half of "Friends… and Other Enemies," a two-part story carried over from War Machine #8 in which Tony Stark and James Rhodes settle their dispute over the silver-and-gray armor design the hard way. The fight plays out on Stark Enterprises grounds with Bethany Cabe attempting to intervene, and closes with the Mandarin's hand visible behind events; Marvel used the issue as the on-ramp to the Hands of the Mandarin crossover that continued through Force Works #6 and War Machine #9. It is a well-constructed chapter of Kaminski's long run and a functional bridge between titles rather than a debut or origin book.
