Fantastic Four #93, cover-dated December 1969, arrived near the tail end of the celebrated Stan Lee and Jack Kirby collaboration on the title, with Joe Sinnott's inks giving the art its familiar polished finish. By this point the series had already delivered the bulk of its landmark first appearances, and issue #93 functions as a representative entry from that run rather than a spotlight issue — it showcases the visual and narrative machinery that made the book Marvel's flagship Silver Age superhero title, but it does not introduce a major villain, ally, or plot device that has since become a broader pop-culture touchstone.
Market data reflects that status: values stay flat and modest across the mid and lower grades, with FMVs bunched in the $36-$55 range from grade 4.5 through 8, before climbing more noticeably at 9.2 and above and then jumping sharply at the 9.8 tier. This pattern is typical for a solid but non-key Silver Age issue — demand is driven almost entirely by condition census scarcity and completist collectors of the Lee-Kirby FF run rather than by any first-appearance premium. Sales activity is thin at the top of the grade scale, with only ten sales recorded at 9.8, underscoring how few high-grade survivors exist relative to demand from run collectors and Kirby-era completists.
This issue trades as a run-builder: budget collectors and dealers can move raw low- and mid-grade copies steadily but for modest sums, while the real value concentration sits with graded 9.6 and 9.8 slabs sought by Silver Age Marvel specialists filling out complete Lee-Kirby Fantastic Four sets. Expect slow, incremental appreciation tied to general Kirby and Silver Age Marvel demand rather than any catalyst specific to this issue.
