Cover shows strong gloss and vibrant color with sharp corners and no visible creases or color breaks. Minor spine stress is difficult to assess due to the plastic sleeve reflection, but no ticks or whitening are apparent. A small circular price sticker/notation ('V6 1.50') is present on the lower right cover, which is a defect affecting an otherwise clean cover. Interior and back cover were not assessed.

Fantastic Four #194 arrived in mid-1978 as part of the Len Wein/Bill Mantlo writing handoff, illustrated by a young George Pérez early in his Marvel tenure. The issue pits the team, joined by supporting cast members Alicia Masters, Agatha Harkness, and a young Franklin Richards, against the recurring villains Diablo and Darkoth, with cameo appearances from Namor and the Impossible Man rounding out a busy Bronze Age ensemble. No first appearances, deaths, or other landmark events occur in this issue; its interest rests almost entirely on Pérez's pencils and inks during a period when his star was rising toward his celebrated Avengers and Teen Titans runs.

The certified population is large relative to demand, with well over a hundred CGC Universal copies graded and a heavy concentration in the 9.4-9.8 range, indicating the issue was easy to find well-preserved even decades later. FMVs stay compressed through the mid-grade tiers before rising sharply only at the top of the census, a pattern typical of a common, high-print-run ordinary issue rather than a sought-after key. Demand is driven almost exclusively by Pérez completists and Fantastic Four run-builders rather than by any character or story milestone.

This is a filler book for most collections: readily available in raw form at nominal cost, and inexpensive even in high certified grade compared to genuine keys of the era. Buyers are typically FF series collectors filling gaps or Pérez art fans, with the CGC 9.8 tier representing the only meaningful price inflection point; mid- and low-grade copies trade as inexpensive commons with little grade-to-grade price sensitivity until the top of the census is reached.
