Fantastic Four #130, cover-dated January 1973, was written by Gerry Conway with pencils by John Buscema and inks by Joe Sinnott, arriving during a transitional period for Marvel's flagship title as the creative team worked to sustain the momentum built by Lee and Kirby. The issue is best remembered for staging the wedding of Quicksilver and Crystal, drawing together members of the Inhumans and the Avengers alongside the core Fantastic Four lineup of Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Girl, the Human Torch, and the Thing. It stands as one of the more heavily cross-continuity issues of the early Bronze Age run, reflecting Marvel's growing willingness to use single issues as connective tissue across its expanding universe.
Market data shows a book that trades as a dependable mid-run Bronze Age title rather than a speculative key. Prices across the low-to-mid grade spectrum are notably flat, with 3.5 through 7.5 grade copies bunched tightly in the $32-42 range, indicating steady but unspectacular demand for well-worn or mid-grade copies. The curve steepens considerably above 9.0, where population thins and buyers pay a premium for pedigree-quality survivors; the jump from 9.4 to 9.8 (roughly $120 to $425) signals real scarcity pressure at the top of the census despite a healthy overall population of 190-plus certified copies.
This issue appeals primarily to Fantastic Four run collectors and Avengers/Inhumans crossover completists rather than first-appearance speculators, since it introduces no new characters and carries no landmark creative milestone beyond its guest-star-heavy wedding narrative. Raw copies in low and mid grade move steadily at modest prices reflecting ordinary Bronze Age supply, while high-grade CGC 9.6 and 9.8 slabs command outsized premiums driven by census scarcity and the appeal of assembling a complete, high-grade FF run. Expect continued stable demand from series-focused buyers with intermittent spikes in the near-9.8 tier as fewer submission-quality copies surface over time.
