Cover shows overall good gloss with bright colors, but there is noticeable wear at the top edge including a small corner crease at upper right, mild spine stress lines visible along the yellow spine box, and slight fraying at the bottom left corner. A thin diagonal crease is visible near the upper portion of the cover. The book is currently housed in a plastic sleeve which reflects some light, and interior pages/back cover were not assessed.

Captain America #129 (Sept. 1970) arrived during the Stan Lee/Gene Colan run that reshaped the title's visual identity after Jack Kirby's departure, trading Kirby's blunt power for Colan's fluid, shadow-heavy line. The issue is notable chiefly for introducing the villain the Asp, one of the recurring poison-themed antagonists who would later be folded into the Serpent Society, giving the book a minor but genuine footnote in Marvel's rogues-gallery history. Falcon appears in support, reflecting his newly established partnership with Cap following his 1969 debut.

Market data shows a typical long-tail Bronze Age curve: certified copies are plentiful through the mid grades (FMV holding near $26-$60 from 6.5 through 9.0), then rising sharply above 9.4, with 9.6 near $230 and 9.8 commanding $725 on a thin population of 13 census copies and 14 recorded sales. That steep late-curve premium is standard for a non-marquee issue where high-grade survivors are scarce relative to demand from completists building the Lee/Colan Captain America run, rather than from speculative first-appearance chasers.

This is a book for series completists and Bronze Age Marvel collectors rather than key-issue investors: raw copies in low and mid grade move cheaply and steadily as filler for long boxes and want lists, while the real value concentration sits at the CGC 9.8 tier, where scarcity of pristine survivors, not story significance, drives the price. Expect flat, patient demand through the midrange with occasional spikes when a fresh 9.8 or 9.6 surfaces at auction.
