Battle Tide belongs to the compressed, ambitious phase of Marvel UK's early-1990s American-market expansion, when the imprint built an interconnected line around Death's Head II, Killpower, Dark Angel and Motormouth. Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning script, with interior art by Geoff Senior and a cover by Delfin Barras, and the issue draws on the imprint's habit of pulling mainstream Marvel figures into its own continuity: Betsy Braddock and Hercules appear alongside Sabretooth and the series' own antagonists Megaira and Termagent. The interest here is largely archaeological rather than narrative — this is early professional work from a writing team that would later become central to Marvel's cosmic line, and a document of the short-lived Marvel UK experiment that folded within two years of publication.

Market profile is that of a common late-Modern Age title with no first appearance to anchor it. Print runs were substantial relative to demand, the books were direct-market products that survived in high grade, and dealer inventories still clear them at or near original cover price. Sales activity is concentrated in multi-issue Marvel UK lots rather than single-copy transactions, which means there is almost no discrete price history for any individual number in the run. Demand drivers are limited to two constituencies: Abnett and Lanning completists working backward from Guardians of the Galaxy, and Death's Head collectors assembling the full Marvel UK web of crossovers.

Across grades the book behaves as a flat asset. Low-grade copies have effectively no separate market and trade only as filler, while mid-grade and high-grade raw copies are separated by pennies because unread copies remain plentiful. Certification is economically irrational at current levels — the grading fee exceeds the book's value several times over — so any slabbed example on the market is a byproduct of a submission made for other reasons, and prices it as scarcity of certification rather than scarcity of the comic. Buyers should treat this as a run-completion purchase, best acquired within a set rather than singly.
