// Condition analysis
The front cover is incomplete — the entire top third, including the Batman logo, issue number and date box, has been torn away, exposing an interior page beneath; remaining cover shows a ragged horizontal tear line, heavy spine roll and stress along the left edge, edge chipping and paper loss at the upper left, general soiling and surface abrasion with color rubbing in the red sack area. Spine indicia strip ('DC BATMAN / 52 PAGES 25¢ / BIGGER AND BETTER') is intact and legible, confirming the giant-size format. Photographed in a bag, so glare partially obscures the right side. Interior pages, back cover, and completeness of the interior were not assessed.

Editorial Novaro was Mexico's principal DC Comics licensee through the Silver and Bronze Ages, publishing Spanish-language reprint titles under its own numbering that often recombined American stories independent of their original U.S. issue sequence. This entry, numbered 239 in Novaro's long-running Batman line and cover-dated February 1972, presents a story teaming Batman with Justice League and Justice Society members Aquaman, Barry Allen's Flash, Golden Age Green Lantern Alan Scott, JSA Atom Al Pratt, and Black Canary's Dinah Drake against the sorcerous and time-manipulating rogues Felix Faust, Doctor Alchemy, Chronos, and the Fiddler. As with most Novaro output, the material was licensed rather than originated, and cover treatment typically diverges from the American printing, placing the book in a niche of Bronze Age Batman collecting distinct from mainstream DC numbering, driven chiefly by completists of the foreign-market run.
CGC's certified population spans 212 total graded copies, with the bulk concentrated between 8.0 and 9.6, indicating a book submitted mostly from higher-grade stock rather than reading copies. FMV data reveal a sharp value cliff between 9.4 ($290) and 9.6 ($750), the latter backed by twelve recorded sales and a one-year average climbing toward $780, while no 9.8 has yet reached the census sales ledger despite three copies graded at that level. Mid-grade copies from 4.0 to 6.0 have traded in a tight $38-44 band, pointing to a firm but modest floor for complete, moderately worn copies rather than the steep grade-driven volatility seen only near the top of the census.
Demand centers on two overlapping groups: collectors assembling complete Novaro Batman runs for the Mexican and broader Latin American market, and Bronze Age crossover enthusiasts drawn to the Justice League/Society guest roster. Raw copies in low and mid grade move steadily but modestly, pricing closer to a common back issue than a genuine key, while certified copies at the top of the census command outsized premiums from census-completists and foreign-edition specialists. Absent a verified 9.8 sale, the extreme high end of the market remains speculative and will likely be set by the next census-topping trade rather than by established comparables.
