AVENGERS #70

Cover shows good gloss and bright, well-registered colors with sharp corners overall. There is a small blunted corner tip at the lower left and minor edge wear along the top and right edges; a faint vertical crease is visible near the spine but does not appear to break color. No major creases, tears, or stains are evident in this photo; the book is in a protective sleeve which limits full assessment. Interior pages and back cover were not visible for grading.

Avengers #70 (November 1969) arrived during Roy Thomas's extended run as the title's chief architect, with Sal Buscema handling pencils as the book transitioned from the Buscema-Heck era into the 1970s. The issue is part of the Zodiac Cartel/Egghead storyline that ran through the late #60s and #70s, pitting the team's then-active lineup of Black Panther, Vision, Yellowjacket, and the Wasp against Egghead's mechanical Ultroids. It carries no first appearance, death, or origin of lasting consequence, but it is a representative artifact of the Panther's early tenure as a full Avenger and of Thomas's ambitious, densely plotted team-book storytelling.
