Front cover shows moderate wear consistent with a 1961 Silver Age book: soft rounded corners, a visible crease/soft spine roll along the left edge, small chips and granularity along the top and right edges, and light surface soiling especially in the yellow background. There is writing/pencil marks near the top of the logo ('D.' and other faint pen marks). No major tears or missing pieces are visible, but the overall wear pattern and edge fraying limit the grade. Interior pages and back cover were not assessed.

Amazing Adventures #1 (Marvel, cover-dated May 1961) launched as a short-lived science-fiction and fantasy anthology in the mold of the era's other Atlas/Marvel suspense titles. It carried no continuing characters, instead running self-contained twist-ending stories illustrated by Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko under Stan Lee's editorial hand, in the house style that dominated Marvel's output just before the superhero line took shape. The title ran only six issues before being folded into Amazing Adult Fantasy, which was itself retitled Amazing Fantasy — the numbering line that would culminate, months later, in Amazing Fantasy #15 and the debut of Spider-Man, giving this issue a quiet but real place in Marvel's pre-superhero lineage.

Market activity is consistent with a well-populated but grade-sensitive Silver Age anthology: certified sales cluster in the low-to-mid grades where supply is heaviest, with prices holding fairly flat from 0.5 through the mid-6.0s before rising sharply above 7.0. That inflection point reflects genuine scarcity in high grade — only a handful of 8.5s and 9.0s exist on census and none have been certified above 9.0 — so demand at the top is concentrated among Kirby/Ditko completists and Marvel pre-hero specialists rather than mainstream key-issue buyers. Interest is steady rather than speculative, driven more by the Kirby art and the Amazing Fantasy connection than by any single first appearance.

This is a book that trades as a mid-tier Silver Age anthology rather than a headline key: raw low- and mid-grade copies move in the low hundreds and appeal to Marvel Silver Age run-builders, while pressure-graded high-grade copies command outsized premiums purely on condition rarity. A theoretical 9.8 would sit well outside the current census and attract specialist bidding rather than broad market competition. Collectors of Kirby and Ditko's early Marvel work, and those assembling the road to Amazing Fantasy #15, represent the natural buyer pool.
