// Archive commentary
Action Comics #361 arrived in March 1968, a late-Silver Age entry in DC's flagship Superman anthology title during editor Mort Weisinger's final stretch overseeing the character. The issue is representative of the era's house style: a self-contained Superman adventure rendered by the era's dependable Metropolis art team, backed by the recurring Supergirl feature that filled out Action Comics' page count through the 1960s. It carries no first appearance, death, or origin story of note, and its cover, while typical of the period's dynamic Superman imagery, has not been singled out by collectors or standard price guides as a genre-defining image.
