No fading or staining apparent, and print registration/gloss look fresh. Agent X was Marvel's 2002 relaunch of its Deadpool corner, rebranding the mercenary title to ride the popularity of the X-Men franchise alongside contemporaries Soldier X and X-Statix. The series is best remembered for Gail Simone and UDON's opening arc, which introduced the amnesiac Alex Hayden. Issue #9, however, falls within the fill-in stretch after Simone and UDON departed over editorial disputes; it is part of the Buddy Scalera and Mitchell Breitweiser two-parter following Alex on the hunt for an invisible adversary, with regulars Outlaw and Sandi Brandenberg in support. It carries no first appearance, origin, or death of note.

As a market object this is a common Modern Age reader with no key content, printed in ample quantity during a period of healthy Marvel distribution. Demand is driven almost entirely by run collectors completing the fifteen-issue series and by Deadpool-universe completists rather than by speculators; the Simone name adds mild interest but her celebrated work here is concentrated in the earlier issues. Raw copies are plentiful and inexpensive, and certified examples are scarce simply because the economics rarely justify grading a book of this profile.

The buyer for this issue is the series or character completist, occasionally a Gail Simone or UDON follower filling gaps. Across grades the spread is narrow: low- and mid-grade raw copies trade for pocket change and are effectively interchangeable, while a high-grade certified slab commands a premium that reflects registry-style scarcity more than intrinsic demand. It is a solid catalog filler rather than an investment book.
