Jungle Action began as a Bronze Age revival of Marvel's jungle-adventure heritage, reprinting Golden and Atlas Age stories featuring characters such as Lorna the Jungle Girl and Jann of the Jungle for a new generation of readers. Issue #3, cover-dated February 1973, falls within this early reprint run that predates the title's later and far more celebrated turn toward original Black Panther stories starting with issue #6, which introduced the "Panther's Rage" storyline that reshaped the book's legacy.
