SUPERMAN’S PAL JIMMY OLSEN #125

Cover shows moderate wear consistent with a mid-grade Silver Age book: visible spine stress lines and light ticks along the spine, mild corner softness at the top right, and slight surface wear in the black background areas showing minor color rub. No major tears, creases, or missing pieces are visible, and the book is protected in a plastic sleeve which may obscure some minor surface flaws. Interior and back cover were not assessed.

Cover-dated December 1969, Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #125 is a Mort Weisinger-era issue produced in the last months before the title's editorial direction changed. The cover is penciled by Curt Swan with inks by Murphy Anderson, the house look that defined DC's Superman family through the decade. The lead story, "Superman's Saddest Day," is scripted by Leo Dorfman with art by Pete Costanza, and turns on a recovered Nostradamus prophecy that sends Jimmy collecting tears from a king, a clown, a killer and a Kryptonian, with predictably explosive results. The issue is filled out with a reprint of the Otto Binder-scripted "The Spendthrift and the Miser" from #28, drawn by Swan with Ray Burnley inks, plus Henry Boltinoff humor pages. It carries no first appearance, origin or death, and sits nine issues ahead of the Kirby run that begins with #133.
